Join us in celebrating Black History Month with a special, collaborative project featuring artwork by Thomarya “Tee” Fergus that has blossomed into The Keep Growing Project!
This February, Genumark has decided to take a new approach to how we celebrate, educate, and remember black history. With this in mind, we turned our focus to using our skills and proficiencies in bringing amazing branded merchandise and custom uniforms to life for a net positive impact in our communities. We’ve launched a store with awesome gear, whose proceeds will be given to The Ocama Collective, an organization focused on promoting and improving health outcomes for birthing families who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), including those who identify as Two Spirit, queer and/or Trans. We would love your support in being able to raise awareness and help make our communities stronger, together.
We’ve partnered with Tee Fergus, a Toronto-based, multidimensional artist, to create an exclusive piece using her bold, organic style. Tee’s concept for this project helped shape not just the name, but the overall direction we would take for the Keep Growing Project.
How You Can Participate
We’re very excited to have an original work created just for this initiative, and even more excited to be able to use our own resources, from production, printing, and shipping, to marketing and promotion—not to mention our network of amazing clients!—to boost Tee’s voice, to showcase her unique talent, and to help a truly great cause.
Tee’s original artwork, titled “Keep Growing,” will be available on a collection of goods, from sustainable t-shirts from a BIPOC woman-owned Canadian supplier to organic cotton tote bags! All proceeds (after production costs) will be donated to the Ocama Collective. Each item can be bought individually, with no minimums, making it easy to help grow our communities together.

The Inspiration
Genumark has always been a strong supporter of diversity and inclusion, in the workplace and beyond. This year, we wanted to take that next step and give more back. Through working with Tee, we grew this project into this amazing collection of goods that have an artistic, yet retail feel.
We are very fortunate to have crossed paths with Tee Fergus and are thrilled to have her on board for this project that goes beyond simply celebrating Black History Month. Tee is a strong supporter of The Ocama Collective and was instrumental in our decision to have proceeds go towards their organization. Speaking on her process in designing this piece,
“I wanted to create a piece that represents community taking care of each other, community planting seeds together and watching them grow especially since my charity are birth workers, plants for me help me to re-centre they help me to stop and take a breath they help me to get grounded, and I think that being amongst plants can really help ones mind.
I’m hoping to create that feeling with this design.”
